Food health and quality are clearly under pressure. Consumers are fearful for food in the future. Ashwin Prasad, previous category manager of bakery products at Tesco, affirms the importance of quality for consumers. The Taste Tomorrow research shows apprehensions about quality and health in the future:
- More than a quarter of consumers around the world expect food to be of lesser quality in the future.
- However, Asia-Pasific is optimistic, more than 35% thinks food will be more qualitative.
- The health expectations are more balanced. One third of the global consumers think food will be healthier, one third thinks it stays equal and one third expects food will be less healthy.
